Question 1

What candle scents does Quince offer?

Accepted Answer

Quince scented candles span five scent families. Citrus and fresh: Bergamot Basil, Grapefruit, Verdant Mint. Floral: English Rose, Peony Dusk, Fleur de Jardin. Fruity: Pear Freesia, Mediterranean Fig, Dark Pomegranate, Currant Noir. Woody and spiced: Coastal Dune, Sunwashed Linen, Golden Amber, Oud Rouge. Holiday: Spiced Noël, Balsam Fir. Limited-edition seasonal scents rotate through the year. The same scent palette is also offered in reed diffusers and room sprays for shoppers who want fragrance without an open flame.

Question 2

What kind of wax do Quince candles use?

Accepted Answer

Coconut-soy wax — a blend of coconut wax and soy wax that burns cleanly, holds scent throw better than pure soy, and produces less soot than paraffin. The wax is naturally derived (no petroleum), the wicks are cotton (no lead or zinc cores), and the fragrance oils are phthalate-free. Each candle is hand-poured in the USA. The full ingredient list is on every product page.

Question 3

How long do Quince candles burn?

Accepted Answer

Burn time varies by candle size, listed on each product page. As a general guide: a standard 7-9 oz Quince candle burns 40-55 hours total when used in 3-4 hour sessions, and a larger 12-14 oz candle burns 60-80 hours. Trimming the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn extends total life and improves scent throw — most candles last longer with proper wick care than without.

Question 4

How do I choose between a candle, a reed diffuser, and a room spray?

Accepted Answer

Candles deliver the strongest scent throw and add visual warmth and ambient light when lit — best for evenings, dinner parties, and rooms where you want both fragrance and atmosphere. Reed diffusers run continuously for 8-12 weeks with no open flame, no plug, and minimal upkeep — best for bathrooms, entryways, offices, and homes with kids or pets. Room sprays deliver an instant scent burst on demand, no commitment — best for refreshing a room before guests arrive or covering kitchen smells. Many shoppers layer all three.

Question 5

Do Quince candles make a good gift?

Accepted Answer

Yes — candles are one of the most-given home-fragrance gifts because they work for any home, suit any age, and read as a real present in person. Holiday scents (Spiced Noël, Balsam Fir) lead the gifting category in fall and winter; floral scents (English Rose, Peony Dusk) lead in spring and Mother's Day. Each candle ships in branded packaging suitable for gifting without re-wrapping. For a fuller set, pair a candle with a matching reed diffuser or room spray in the same scent.

Question 6

How do I burn and care for a Quince candle safely?

Accepted Answer

Burn for 3-4 hours at a time to let the wax pool reach the edge of the jar (this prevents "tunneling" where wax burns down the center only). Trim the cotton wick to 1/4 inch before each light to reduce soot and prolong life. Never burn within 12 inches of curtains, books, or anything flammable, and never leave a candle burning unattended or near pets. Stop burning when 1/2 inch of wax remains in the jar — burning beyond that point can damage the container.
