Instructions for Replacing Suitcase Parts

These instructions apply to all existing Hard Shell and Expandable Hard Shell suitcases.  Please contact care@onequince.com for details on how to replace parts on our other suitcases.

REPLACING THE TROLLEY HANDLE

  1. Slide open the zipper of the inner lining on the back bottom hard shell case to expose the interior of the shell and trolley handle.

  2. Unscrew the 5 screws connecting the trolley handle to the interior of the hard shell.  There should be one row of 3 screws and another row of 2 screws to unscrew.

  3. After removing the 5 screws, pop out the black metal clamp connecting the trolley handle to the hard shell case.

  4. Unscrew the 2 screws connecting the bottom of the trolley handle rails to the bottom of the hard shell case. The existing trolley handle should now easily slide out from the top of the hard shell. Remove the existing trolley handle.

  5. Insert the new replacement handle into the slots at the top of the hard shell.

  6. Reattach the 2 screws connecting the bottom of the trolley handle rails to the bottom of the hard shell case.

  7. Reattach the metal clamp and screw in the remaining 5 screws connecting the trolley handle to the hard shell case.

  8. Slide the inner lining zipper closed to reseal the lining.

REPLACING THE TOP OR SIDE CARRY HANDLE

  1. Slide open the zipper of the inner lining on the back of the bottom hard shell case (the side with the Compression Pad) to expose the interior of the shell.

  2. Find the interior portion of the carry handle you are looking to replace.  There should be one handle on the side and one on top of the hard shell case.

  3. Unscrew the 4 screws that connect the interior side of the carry handle you are looking to replace to the hard shell case.

  4. Replace the existing carry handle with the new one.

  5. Reattach the 4 screws to the interior side of the carry handle.

  6. Slide the inner lining zipper closed to reseal the lining.

REPLACING ANY OF THE SUITCASE WHEELS

  1. Slide open the zipper of the inner lining on the top or bottom of the hard shell case,  depending on which wheel(s) you are trying to replace.

  2. Make sure you are using front wheel replacement parts if you are replacing a wheel(s) on the top / front of the suitcase, and back wheel replacement parts if you are replacing a wheel(s) on the bottom / back of the suitcase.

  3. Unscrew the 5 screws that connect the interior side of the wheel you are looking to replace to the hard shell case. Once the screws are removed, the wheel, along with the black connector piece, should detach from the hard shell case.

  4. Replace the existing wheel with the new one.

  5. Re-attach the 5 screws on the interior part of the wheel.

  6. Repeat for any additional wheels that require replacement.

  7. Slide the inner lining zipper closed  to reseal the lining.

REPLACING A BROKEN ZIPPER HEAD

  1. Using pliers, gently open the ring on top of the zipper slider far enough so you can slide out the old zipper puller (if still attached).

  2. Slide the new puller tab onto the open zipper slider.

  3. Use pliers to fold the zipper slider closed and ensure that the new puller is securely in place.
