Question 1

1. What makes the Ubbi diaper pail better at controlling odor than the other diaper disposal systems?

Accepted Answer

The Ubbi diaper pail is the original steel diaper pail—and steel makes all the difference. Unlike plastic, which is porous and absorbs odors over time, steel naturally blocks smells from seeping in or lingering. To further lock odors out, the pail features rubber seals around the rim and sliding lid, creating an airtight seal that keeps unwanted smells contained.

Question 2

2. How many diapers does Ubbi diaperpail hold?

Accepted Answer

The diaper pail holds up to 55 newborn diapers.

Question 3

3. Can you use this with cloth diapers?

Accepted Answer

Yes—with a few considerations. While the pail is designed for disposable diapers, it can also be used for cloth diapers when paired with a liner. Because cloth diapers are wet, we recommend leaving the sliding lid slightly ajar to allow airflow and prevent condensation. Cloth diapers are typically less odorous than disposables, so this small opening won’t cause smell issues—and it helps prevent condensation, mold, and potential rust.

Question 4

4. What type and what size garbage bags should you use with this?

Accepted Answer

The Ubbi diaper pail works with any standard tall kitchen garbage bag (13-gallon) or a standard-size cloth liner. No special refills required—and no need for expensive, proprietary bags.

Question 5

5. What should I use to clean the Ubbi diaper pail?

Accepted Answer

Use a dry cloth only—no water or cleaning liquids. The Ubbi diaper pail is designed to be low maintenance and easy to care for. Because it is airtight, introducing liquid (including water, bleach, Lysol, or harsh abrasives) can create condensation, which may lead to mold or rust over time. Simply wipe with a dry cloth to keep it clean.
