Question 1

What kinds of placemats does Quince offer?

Accepted Answer

14 products across three lines. Quince European Linen and Organic Cotton Gauze placemats are sold in sets of 4 for the linen and natural-fiber aesthetic. Chilewich placemats — woven from durable synthetic yarns — cover the easy-care side: Pressed Bloom (set of 4), Mini Basketweave Round (set of 4), Mini Basketweave Rectangular (set of 4), and Sampler Easy-Care Rectangular (set of 4).

Question 2

What's the difference between linen and Chilewich placemats?

Accepted Answer

European linen placemats are textile — soft to the touch, machine washable, and reading more relaxed. Chilewich placemats are woven from a durable easy-care synthetic that wipes clean with a damp cloth — built for households with kids, pets, or heavy daily use where machine washing every meal isn't practical. Chilewich is the standard for restaurant and high-traffic home use; linen for the more refined occasional table.

Question 3

Are Chilewich placemats machine washable?

Accepted Answer

Most Chilewich placemats are not machine washable — they're designed to wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, which preserves the woven structure and reduces wear over time. Check each product page for specific care; some lines (Pressed Bloom in particular) tolerate a gentle hand wash but should not go in the dryer.

Question 4

What size are these placemats?

Accepted Answer

Standard placemat size — 14" × 18" or 13" × 18" for rectangular versions; 14" diameter for the Round Basketweave. Sold in sets of 4 across all current SKUs. For larger tables, buying two sets (8 placemats) is the common pattern.

Question 5

How do linen placemats wash and care?

Accepted Answer

Machine wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Iron on low or medium while still slightly damp for a crisp finish — or skip ironing for the natural relaxed look. Treat stains with cold water before washing. Linen softens with each wash.

Question 6

Does Quince offer free returns on placemats?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we accept returns for 365 days from your order date.

Question 7
