ALL YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Hugger ceiling fans (also called flush-mount fans) mount directly against the ceiling with no downrod — best for ceilings under 9 feet, where a fan with a downrod would hang too low. Standard ceiling fans use a downrod (typically 4-6 inches) for better airflow and a more substantial visual presence — best for ceilings 9 feet or taller. Each Quince fan product page lists whether it is hugger or standard mount.
