A true blackout curtain adds a blackout liner, made from 37% polyester and 63% polyacrylic, behind the face fabric. It blocks light completely through the fabric, so the room stays dark even at sunrise. Regular light filtering and room darkening panels let some daylight through. A little light can still slip in around the edges, so mount the rod above and wider than the window.
