Ankle Socks

An ankle sock sits just below the collar of a low shoe, so none of it shows while you're wearing it. Aside from a no-show, it's the shortest height Quince makes.

It's usually the cuff or the heel depth. The performance and golf packs are built with structure through the arch and heel, so they stay where you put them.

They come in organic and everyday cotton for solid, tri-block marl, and colorblock marl packs, and in performance knit packs for the running, golf, and pilates.

Marl is a yarn made by twisting differently colored strands together, so the color looks like a soft fleck rather than a flat, even tone. The tri-block and color-block styles use it in bands, while the everyday pack is a clean solid.

The golf and pilates four-packs are both unisex, so they're shared across the men's and women's collections rather than cut specifically for women.

The everyday cotton packs are a smooth knit with no added cushioning, while the running and golf packs add a denser zone through the sole. If you want padding underfoot, those two are the ones to reach for.

That's the quarter sock, which clears the shoe collar and sits just above the ankle bone. Above that come crew socks, and then over-the-calf.
