Chaise Sectionals have one straight section with a single extended seat (chaise) on either the left or right end — best for living rooms where you want to lounge with feet up. L Sectionals have two perpendicular sections forming a right angle — best for corner placement and rooms where you want seating around two adjacent walls. Measure the floor area where the sectional will sit, then add 18-24 inches of clearance on at least one side for traffic flow. Also measure your doorways, hallways, and stairwells — sectionals ship in two or more pieces but each piece needs to clear your entry path.
