Michael Kempen’s work “explores the foggy structures of partially-forgotten dreams and misremembered spatial experiences while focusing on the meditative quality found in the balance of irregular shapes.” Each of his art pieces makes a statement as a standalone piece or as part of a complementary set. “Drift Set of 2” pays homage to two of his inspirations, Ellsworth Kelly and Robert Motherwell.
