For everyday: napkins and placemats. For dinner parties: add a runner or tablecloth and consider matching napkins for the guest count. For holidays: a tablecloth and matching napkins makes the table feel intentional.

Machine wash cold on gentle, mild detergent, no fabric softener. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Iron on linen setting while slightly damp for the crispest finish — linen wrinkles are part of the charm but ironing tames them when you want.

Measure your table, then add 12-15 inches of overhang on each side. A 60-inch round table needs an 84-inch round cloth; a 72-inch rectangular table needs an 84x96 cloth.

Slightly, on first wash — mostly along the length. We pre-wash to minimize this, but a small amount of shrinkage is normal for natural linen. Hemming accounts for the shrinkage in our sizing.

Yes — that's actually what they're built for. Cloth napkins last decades with regular washing and quickly become more practical (and lower-waste) than paper. Set a small basket of clean napkins next to the table to make daily use easy.

European linen and cotton breathe, age beautifully, and biodegrade at the end of their long lives. Synthetic table linens (polyester, microfiber) are stain-resistant but don't soften with use and don't biodegrade. Trade-offs depending on what you value.
