Acetate is a plant-based cellulose material, hand-cut and polished over several days in specialized workshops. It feels warmer and more substantial than injection-molded plastic, holds color without fading, and resists brittleness over time. Standard plastic frames are mass-produced—lighter and less expensive, but less durable. For longevity and craftsmanship, acetate is the one.

Most Quince sunglasses come with polarized lenses, which block reflected glare from water, snow, and roads—especially useful for driving and outdoor activities. For everyday city wear, non-polarized lenses work just as well. Either way, all styles include 100% UVA and UVB protection. Check the individual product page to confirm whether a specific style is polarized.

A good fit means the frames sit securely on the bridge of the nose without sliding, and the arms hug the sides of the head without pressure. The lens centers should align with your pupils—too wide and the lenses look off; too narrow and the frame edge creeps into your peripheral vision. Our size chart includes frame width, lens height, temple length, and bridge width in millimeters to help you find the right fit.

A round face is balanced by angular shapes like square or wayfarer frames. A square face is softened by rounder styles like round or aviator. An oval face is the most versatile—most shapes work well. A heart-shaped face benefits from bottom-heavy frames like aviators or squares, which help widen the lower face. That said, the size chart is a helpful starting point, but trying a few shapes is always the best way to find what works for you.

Clean the lenses with the included microfiber cloth or a lens-cleaning spray to remove fingerprints and oil. Store them in the leather case when not in use—it protects against scratches and frame warping. Avoid leaving them in a hot car, as prolonged heat can warp acetate over time. It's also worth tightening the temple screws every six months to keep the fit secure.
