Sherpa is a thick, plush double-sided fleece with a high-pile texture — designed to mimic the look of shearling (real sheepskin). Heavier, warmer, and bulkier than standard fleece, with visible loft. Quince uses recycled materials in many sherpa styles. Standard fleece is a lighter-weight knitted synthetic — flatter surface, more flexible, less bulk. Polar fleece (Polar Fleece Full-Zip Jacket) is medium-weight; sweater-knit fleece (Sweater-Knit Fleece Full-Zip) reads more like a knit sweater than a traditional fleece. Faux fur is the longest-pile option — designed to mimic the look of real fur with a smooth, plush hand-feel. Quince's faux fur styles deliver fur-coat warmth and visual drama without animal products. Choose sherpa for cozy everyday warmth; fleece for lightweight indoor/active layering; faux fur for statement outerwear.

Quince's sherpa is made from recycled materials in most styles — a double-sided plush fleece with high-pile texture that holds significant heat. Warmer than standard fleece by weight, comparable to medium-weight wool. The synthetic construction means it doesn't absorb moisture the way wool does (good for damp conditions), but it doesn't breathe as well as natural fibers (less ideal for active aerobic wear). Durability is high — the recycled polyester construction is wrinkle-resistant and holds shape over time. Pill-resistance is good initially but heavy use can cause some surface matting after several seasons (use a fabric brush gently to re-loft the pile).

For sherpa and recycled fleece (most styles): machine wash cool on a gentle cycle, tumble dry low or hang dry. Use a low-heat tumble briefly to re-loft the pile after washing.
