Note: these are outerwear vests, distinct from sweater vests in Quince's Sweaters assortment.

A puffer vest has visible fluffy chambers filled with insulation — either down (natural feather) or synthetic. The most warmth-to-weight option. A down vest specifically uses natural goose or duck down as insulation — Quince's Lightweight Down Packable Puffer Vest and Responsible Down Puffer Vest are this category. Down packs warmer and lighter than synthetic insulation but requires careful washing. A quilted vest has stitched diamond or geometric patterns through a thin insulation layer — flatter, more polished silhouette than a puffer, less bulky, lighter warmth. Down vests (Lightweight Down Packable, Responsible Down): machine wash cool on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Use a front-loading washer if possible (top-loaders can damage down clusters). Tumble dry low with 2-3 clean tennis balls or dryer balls to re-loft the down — this is critical, otherwise the down clumps permanently. May take 2-3 dry cycles to fully re-loft. Synthetic puffer + quilted (Featherless Quilted): machine wash cool gentle, tumble dry low (dryer balls not required but help). Mongolian Cashmere Puffer Vest: spot clean cashmere shell, professional clean recommended for full wash. 100% Leather Puffer Vest: spot clean only or professional clean. Sherpa + Fleece vests: machine wash cool gentle, tumble dry low. Avoid fabric softener on any insulated vest — it reduces loft and insulation performance.
