ALL YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Do I really need a rug pad?

For most rugs, yes. Rug pads keep the rug from sliding (a safety issue), add measurable cushion underfoot (especially helpful with thinner rugs), and protect both the rug back and the floor from friction wear. Skip the pad on rugs with built-in non-slip backing.

What size rug pad should I get?

One inch smaller than the rug on each side — so a 5x7 rug needs a 4'10" x 6'10" pad. The pad shouldn't be visible past the edge of the rug; cutting it slightly small keeps the rug edges from curling.

Will a rug pad damage hardwood floors?

Quality felt-based pads (like ours) won't damage hardwood. Avoid PVC or rubber-backed pads on finished hardwood — those can react with floor finish over time. For high-pile rugs on hardwood, felt pads are the safer choice.

How thick should a rug pad be?

For most uses, 1/4 to 3/8 inch is the sweet spot — thick enough to add cushion, thin enough that doors still open over the rug. Thicker pads (1/2 inch+) work for rooms with hardwood and no doors swinging over the rug.

Can I cut a rug pad to size?

Yes. Felt-based pads cut cleanly with sharp scissors or a utility knife. Measure your rug, subtract an inch from each dimension, and cut. Save the offcuts for under furniture legs that scuff the floor.

Do I need a rug pad on carpet?

Less critical, but still useful. A pad on carpet keeps the rug from creeping and adds a stable surface so the rug doesn't bunch up under foot traffic. Use a thinner pad on carpet than on hardwood.

Do you offer free returns & exchanges?

Yes, rugs may be returned for a full refund or exchange within 365 days of the delivery date. Rugs are subject to a $35 restocking fee for storage and handling.
