For everyday wear, many shoppers reach for a bomber, a lighter chore-style jacket, or a shorter trench that layers over denim, dresses, and knitwear.

A trench coat is longer, more structured, and built to layer over outfits like dresses or workwear. A regular jacket usually has a shorter cut and reads more casual.

Puffer jackets and down coats are usually the warmest because they are built around insulation. Leather and wool styles look more polished but often need a layer underneath in deep cold.

Leather jackets block wind well, but on their own they are better suited to fall, spring, or milder winter days. In colder weather, layering a knit or down vest underneath helps.

A camel coat is usually a longer wool style in a soft tan shade, made for warmth and a more dressed-up look. A trench coat is lighter, water-resistant, and often used as a transitional layer.

A jacket should feel comfortable through the shoulders and still leave room for the layers you plan to wear under it. Check fit notes and the size guide if you want to wear sweaters or knits underneath.
